Void Probability Function of Simulated Surveys of High-redshift Ly<i>?</i> Emitters

We calculate the void probability function (VPF) in simulations of Ly? emitters (LAEs) across a wide redshift range (z = 3.1, 4.5, 5.7, 6.6). The VPF measures zero-point correlation (i.e., places devoid galaxies) and naturally connects to higher-order functions while being computationally simple calculate. explore Poissonian systematic errors on VPF, specify its accuracy as average source density volume probed, provide appropriate size scales measure VPF. At small radii, is limited by galaxy density, at large number independent volumes probed. also offer guidelines for understanding quantifying error approximate using subvolumes catalogs, after finding that jackknife statistics underestimate uncertainty. use probe strength measuring examining hierarchical scaling between count-in-cells method. negative binomial model (NBM) has been shown best describe two-point low-redshift observations. further test fit NBM directly deriving volume-averaged from vice versa. find describes simulated LAEs, with 1? deviation z 6.6 catalog. This suggests LAEs show clustering terms similar those normal galaxies.
